In 1953 Hill Homes Ltd acquired Northolme, a 3-storey mansion house in Broadlands Road, to provide accommodation for elderly mentally ill people.

The Home opened in 1954 and the staff worked closely with Friern Hospital.

In 1960 the building was extended at the rear.

In 1964 the Home was renamed after Gwendolen Sim, a benefactor.

It presumably closed in the 1990s.


Present status (February 2009)

The property is now owned by Highgate School.

The building has been refurbished.
