No. 22 Stanhope Road was
acquired by Hill Homes Ltd sometime between the years 1945-1947.
It became the Stanhope Residential Club, a nursing home for the
elderly. It was later renamed Stanhope Lodge.
The home closed in 1967, when Homfray House opened at No. 4 Broadlands Road. Present status (May 2015) The property was sold in 1968 to raise funds for the charity, which wanted to build more accessible accommodation for the elderly. |

The street has been renumbered and No. 22 is now No. 48. |
