Geriatric
In 1945 Hill Homes Ltd purchased No. 14 Bishopswood Road, the neighbouring house to Mrs Hill, the founder of the charity, who lived at No. 16.

The large Victorian mansion, built in 1878, was converted into a retirement home for the elderly.  It was later named Woodlands.

In 1976, after an appeal had raised £150,000, a large extension was built at the side of the Home.

The Home closed probably in the late 1990s.

Present status (May 2015)

In 2005 both No. 14 and No. 16 were acquired by Highgate School for use as storage and rental accommodation.

Recently the large detached Victorian mansions were bought by a developer and are now under restoration and conversion back to individual private residences with large gardens.

Two new dwellings - semi-detached houses to be numbered No. 12A and 12B - are being built on part of the garden.

Woodlands
The former Home at No. 14 Bishopswood Road is to become Larkspur.
In December 2012 planning permission was granted for the extensions to No. 14 to be demolished. This has been done and building work is progressing on the new semi-detached houses at the rear of the house.

Woodlands
No. 16 is under restoration and will be offered for sale at £14m.  It is Grade II listed and has been named Hurstbourne.  English Heritage intends to install a blue plaque on completion of the work in commemoration of work of Professor Archibald Hill.
