In 1914 Baroness de Goldsmid e da Palmeira, a member of the Chelsea Voluntary Aid Detachment, opened a small hospital for officers.
The Hospital had 9 beds and was affiliated with Queen Alexandra's Military Hospital in Milllbank. The Baroness ran the Hospital for three years without a War Office grant. It closed in May 1918. Present status (May 2010) The building still exists but it is unclear whether it has become a private residence or an office building. |
