In the summer of 1916 Mrs Knowles kindly made her private residence, Hast Hill, available as an annexe to the Canadian Convalescent Hospital in Bromley Park.  It had 10 beds.

The house had previously been used as an auxiliary hospital, when seven patients had been admitted on 22nd October 1914.

This building is recorded as having been used as an auxiliary military hospital during WW1.  No further details have (as yet) come to light.

Present status (November 2011)

The Victorian mansion has now been converted into apartments.
