ALMSHOUSES OF LONDON

Fuller's Almshouses

Temple Street, Leyton, E11 4YG

In 1865 the inmates of Fuller's Almshouses in Mile End Road, Stepney, moved to new premises built in Temple Street, Leyton.

The almshouse building survived until the beginning of the 20th century but, by 1948, it had become Temple House.

Current status

In the 1970s the whole area was redeveloped. Temple Street was eradicated and the site of the almshouses is now part of Birch Grove.
